Our group consists of 5 members, Rita, Randy, Lisa, Henry and Lina. Rita learned to play piano and so did Randy, Henry learned to play the drum, Lisa learned the electric guitar and Lina learned to play bass guitar. Our group has worked towards playing Holiday by Green Day from the American Idiot album. I enjoyed learning how to play the bass because it was an instrument that was lower and deeper. I prefer instruments that play lower octaves and such. It was fun to play the bass solo and the bridge for the song and just jamming along with the fellow bandmates. Something I found difficult about learning the bass guitar was just the pain I got from the strings and always getting off track because I would have so much fun with other songs that we just kept playing and jamming along to other songs. I also had trouble with flying fingers, my hands would go way too far from the neck of the bass and I was really slow with switching my fingers from fret to fret. Despite all of the difficulties, it was extremely fun to make music and hear all the nice notes you could make from the instruments you were playing, give it a try, it’s fun to join up with friends and play a song and just have fun. There’s a wonderful feeling you get when you play a song from start to finish with you’re friends and it can be really stress relieving from time to time. School of rock has given me the opportunity to work with others to make music and mix sounds of different instruments all together to make it sound amazing, it feels so good to know that a couple instruments and a couple weeks of learning the basics can give you such nice songs. If you are ever given the chance to do school of rock, then it's definitely something you should really consider choosing.
