Mind Your Own Business is an innovation elective that requires a creative mindset and much communication between one another. In this elective, we are able to learn what it takes to open up a business in simple terms so it is easy for everyone to comprehend. Each lesson consists of well-planned lessons where we recap what has been done in the last lesson and learn something new each lesson. For example, this Tuesday we were taught about the Design Thinking process, whereas in the last few lessons we learnt about entrepreneurship. We’ve also learned that entrepreneurs go through the difficulties of coming up with a product that would resolve our society’s unhappiness.

During last lesson, we were given an example of a problem we had to solve using the Design Thinking process. The example was “a solution to ice cream dripping when eating an ice cream cone.” We were then instructed to discuss between our partners any ideas we came up with; Simey thought of using a bowl/cup and placing the ice cream cone itself upside down so people would still be able to eat the cone but preventing the mess.

Over the past few lessons, I would admit that we, as a class, have developed many Cecil skills such as communication, innovation, engagement and collaboration.
